HOMESTAY MISO WALAI
Miso Walai Homestay program has been operating since the year 2000 and offers an award winning and organized community-based cultural tourism experience in the Lower Kinabatangan, Sabah. With more than 3 language groups and over 20 dialects the local indigenous Orang Sungai have a unique and diverse story to tell of their past and changing future alongside the Kinabatangan River. There are more than 35 family households participating in the Miso Walai Homestay.
Miso Walai Homestay is MYR70/person per night - this includes bed, 3 meals, snacks, tea/coffee and village transfers. After you arrive at our village base/office, we ask you to register. We will discuss with you to work out all activities and programs that you would like to participate, before sending you to the home of your host family. This way we can arrange guides, boat trips or any additional activities or trips you would like to take and can inform the host families about your movements and activities. In this way too, the host family can prepare take-out meals, and early or late meals, depending on your program and activities. Internal village bus transfers can also be confirmed at this stage.
