HOMESTAY BATU PAPAN
You may listen to the soothing sounds of the Galas River by sitting on the riverbank as it flows steadily beside the village. Surrounded by peaceful hills containing the famous Honey Cave (Gua Madu) which only the locals know about its entrance and layout.
According to local folklore, a swarm of bees built their nests on the cave ceiling, and the nests have grown over the years. Fishing is also one of the activities where the village boys often spend their time during the school holidays to catch the odd prawn or two. You can also watch up the making of kerepek (crackers) closely, and buy some of it to increase their economic livelihood.
You can learn their local culture whereby learning a Kelantanese dialect, and watch their faces smile widely as they exchanged greetings with you. You will be surprised by much you discover about Kelantan and its gentle people through this homestay experience.
