HOMESTAY KAMPUNG DARUL ISLAM BELIMBING
Kampung Darul Islam Belimbing,is the first Muslim Bidayuh Longhouse community settlement in the Kuching Division, founded in 1968. Located within the Borneo Highlands area, it is about 60 km from Kuching City and is easily accessed by road. The name Belimbing or Gerumbing in the local dialect means Star Fruit (wild) which is abundant in the area.
The villagers practices nomadic hill paddy cultivation seasonally.
Group visitors should be prepared to participate and adapt to the family life by helping with various tasks around the houses. So the more the visitors try to learn about their customs, diet and habits, the more rewarding the experience. There is space for 22 participants with 22 rooms in Kampung Darul Islam Belimbing.
